Asylum Aid is an independent, national charity that works to secure protection for people seeking refuge in the UK.

The Protection Gap campaign focussed on five key rights for female asylum seekers, to support and protect them and their children throughout the process, featuring quotes from the women themselves.

The digital postcard mechanic provided an easy way for the public to join the fight and petition their local MP to raise the issues in parliament. Thousands of people clicked, signed and sent postcards.

In March 2015, the bill was passed in parliament and the Home Office included all five of our demands in its Gender Asylum Action Plan.
